Yesterday was the annual event of the topsector Holland High Tech, which focused on the need to innovate not only to address today’s challenges but, more importantly, to also remain competitive in the future. Ab Ovo has joined the "National Coalition for Sustainable Digitalization". Nationale Coalitie Duurzame Digitalisering. Hereby the press release in Dutch. About the motivation to join the NCDD, our CTO Dieter Veldhuis says: “We have set ourselves the goal of supporting the sustainability goals of companies. There is still little knowledge in society about the impact of digitalization. Software plays a major role in this, but can also become a new problem when we look at the enormous data storage and energy requirements of hardware. The first thing that must be done is to create awareness, not only from society but also within companies themselves. What I see in the market is that sustainability and energy consumption of software hardly play a role in selecting software. The joint mission with the NCDD is to create more awareness. To ultimately be distinctive, a lot still needs to be done, including from governments. We would like to collaborate with several parties who are also working on this, we simply cannot do this alone.”#sustainability #greenplanet
