Is Chicago Party Aunt based on a true story? ›

“It's based on a couple of my actual aunts, my actual Chicago party aunts,” says Witaske, who grew up in St. Charles. “Also, I worked at Mike Ditka's restaurant for five years out of college, so I saw a lot of party aunts come through that place.”

Despite the scheduling conflicts that may arise, Netflix hasn't canceled Chicago Party Aunt as of June 2023. Also, the cast considered this show a passion project.

Chicago Party Aunt Not Expected to Return for Season 3

The first eight episodes dropped in September 2021, and the second season a year later in December 2022. In the press release for season 2, there was no mention of it being the final season.
