Homemade Cleopatra Face Cream Tallow Balm Recipe - Real Food RN (3)

Legend has it that Cleopatra used a variety of different beauty rituals, and when you read up on her techniques, you will find that she used many different oils, cream, salts, and waxes. While doing my research, I decided to come up with a recipe that used her ancient beauty wisdom combined with my tried and true beauty hacks. Since tallow balm is one of my FAVORITE skin care ingredients, the base of this is naturally a tallow balm recipe.

Let’s break down the ingredients list:

Tallow Balm: Tallow contains the abundant fat-soluble activators — vitamins A, D, E, and K — which are necessary for skin health. It also contains conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) which has anti-inflammatory properties.

Sweet Almond Oil: Almond oils contain mandelic acid, which is found in many modern chemical peels.

Essential Oils: The oils in this recipe are very soothing and supportive to the skin. Cleopatra knew what she was doing when she chose these specific oils for her skin. Look them up here and you will see why!

Cleopatra also did other things to keep her skin looking amazing! She used a scrub made with sea salt and cream and had her servants massage her with it. She bathed in honey and milk, the lactic acid in the milk made her skin soft. She also used rosewater as a toner. I do this daily too, here is the one that I use.
